A Few Pointers To Maximise Your Power
Here are a few golf tips for beginners for those of you that wonder how to improve your golf drive. These tips will help you maximize power and hopefully gain a few yards in your golf swing. First and this is important, make sure the ball is teed up high enough, if your ball sits too low you are shooting yourself in the foot when it comes to distance. The top half of your ball should sit above the face of the golf club. Next, when you swing make sure to load up all your energy on the inside of your right leg, keep your left arm straight at the top, tuck your shoulders and pull straight to the ball. Wait until the last moment to throw the top hand and throw the right hand for maximum momemtum.

Improve Your Swing With Proper Body Position
Here is a new installment on how to improve your golf swing. Having proper body position when you take your shot is very important and plays a huge part in the accuracy of your shot. Today then, we will look at how to position yourself to help you hit the ball square and to be more accurate with your shots. It's actually very simple. In a nutshell, your feet should be parallel to the ball or target line. The target line is the straight line which passes through the hole and through the ball. To help you at first you can place a club behind the ball, with the club pointing at the hole in the distance: this is your target line. What you want to do know is position your feet so that they are parallel to that target line. This will help you hit the ball clean and should improve the accuracy of your shots. If your feet are either opened or closed your trajectory will change accordingly so keep them parallel. Having your feet positioned in this fashion also helps prevent back injury as your body doesn't have to compensate for misalignement.
Golf Grip For Improving Your Golf Swing
Let's talk a bit about golf grip. Here's how to grip your golf clubs properly (we will assume you are right handed) : let the grip of the golf club rest on the fingers of your left hand, you want to grip the shaft with your fingers and not with your palm. Wrap your hand over. When looking down on your left hand you should see two, two and a half knuckles. Bring up your thumb so that it is snug against your hand. Slide the ring finger from your right hand against your left hand and let your pinky rest in between the index and middle finger of your left hand. Close the grip and the rest of the fingers will naturally fall into place. The "Vs" of both your hands (the crease between your thumb and index fingers) should roughly point to your right shoulder. That's it, you are ready to go. You shoud now have a solid grip and be on your way to straightening out your golf swing.
Tips For Improving Distance On Your Golf Swing
In order to get great distance from your shots, you have to be able to hit the ball square consistently. Missing what is called the "sweet spot" on your driver could cost you twenty yards, at minimum. Let's give a step by step golf swing mashout:
- Be relax during your swing! There's nothing worse for your swing than being tense. You have to be relax and smooth. When you are tense, the distance from the tip of your driver to the ball changes (shortens) and of course that doesn't make for a good, smooth, fluid swing. Remember, strike the ball even an inch off and you have just lost precious yards on your golf swing. When you are tense, it's also harder to build momentum during your swing and thus speed and power. Being tense is also detrimental to balance, another critical aspect of a good swing. Next time you swing, do not focus on power but on fluidity, power will come from the fluidity of your swing.
- The distance from the core of your body to the ball should stay constant as much as possible during your swing. The accepted "center" or point of reference of your core is the point on your spine where your neck and shoulder lines intersect. Try to keep the distance from that point on your spine (core) to the ball constant. This will help you achieve a smooth swing and help you hit the ball square. What this means in layman terms is don't move the trunk of your body around during your swing! Keeping your head relatively still will also help you not move your core around too much.
That's it for now, these tips should help you improve your golf swing and drive farther by being smoother.
